When renowned dermatologist, Dr Dray makes a video talking about her favorite skincare products of the year, you sit down and take notes. Dr Dray tries hundreds of skincare products every year, so for her to have a top 6, is mind-blowing to me!
I know you did not click here to hear my rambling (Can’t blame a girl trying to get in her word count) so let me just get into Dr Dray’s top 6 skincare products of the year.

1. Skin Aqua Super Moisture UV Gel (Sunscreen)
Let’s start with the most important product in anyone’s skincare routine, sunscreen. Dr Dray’s vote for the best sunscreen of the year goes to the Japanese sunscreen called Skin Aqua Super Moisture UV Gel. This is non-greasy, fast drying and allows for good evaporation of sweat and does not burn and sting around the eyes. If you are sensitive to niacinamide, look no further, this sunscreen does not have that ingredient.
This is a chemical sunscreen with zero white cast and a great formula. Dr Dray enjoyed this sunscreen in particular because of its resistant to humidity. The biggest issue people have with sunscreens is that it can get greasy during hot humid weather, but not this one. This one performs fabulously and that is why it deserves a spot for the best sunscreen of the year.
2. Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating SA Body Lotion (Body Moisturizer)
As someone with atopic dermatitis, Dr Dray is always moisturizing and considers a good moisturizer to be a staple in a good skincare routine. Cetaphil’s Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid body moisturizer provides a beautiful finish, this product is not only great for acne, but also a fantastic product for exfoliating the pores and good to remove rough, dry buildup. It is hydrating and helps improve your skin’s moisture barrier turnover.
This no fragrance gentle product is also good for dry elbows and knees!
3. COSRX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum (Serum)
This product has ingredients that can help improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Some people have been referring to it as “botox in a bottle”. The peptides help soothing and hydrating the skin.
It has anti-inflammatory properties, helps with the skin barrier, appearance, hydration, clarity, dark spots while lasting a long time, as there is a lot of a product and you only need a small amount to create a small film on the skin.
4. COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence (Serum)
Another product in this category is Cosrx’s Snail Mucin Power Essence, it helps with the skin elasticity and keeps it looking healthy and bright. Affordable and effective, Dr Dray stacked both the serums throughout the year for even better results.
5. La Roche Posay Cicaplast Gel (Skin Protectant)
Dr Dray loves this gel by La Roche Posay around the eyes, a tiny drop under the eyes and upper eyelid (do not get it directly in your eyes) helps plump the skin there and limit the penetration of irritants around the eyes. This area is sensitive, making it easy for irritants to penetrate, but using this gel around that area can reduce that problem.
It helps keep the skin smooth, plump and brighter under eyes. Especially good for anybody with allergies and eye rubbing tendencies.
6. Abib Barrier Jelly (Recovery Mask for Sensitive Skin)
This Korean product is one of the best overnight masks that dermatologist Dr Dray loved throughout the year. This thick, clear, colorless hydrating jelly does not have too many ingredients. It is a no-nonsense rice centric product, like many other Korean products.
Your skin will be a bit sticky after applying this product, so you have to give it some time to let the skin absorb it, Dr Dray recommends twenty minutes before you rest your face on a pillow after putting this on. This is a great option if you have sensitive cheeks.
This is Dr Dray’s holy grail discovery of the year, she raves about its amazing qualities as a recovery mask for super sensitive, dry, irritated skin. You can use it to the entire face, or even to those areas with a lot of peeling or sensitivity. Use it every night or only when your skin needs a little something extra.
