Just like the skin, the most basic and essential part to effective hair care starts with cleansing. Keeping that in mind, dermatologist Dr Dray starts the best hair care with the best shampoo. This is an anti-dandruff shampoo. Dr Dray reminds us that she does not have dandruff but nonetheless loves this anti-dandruff shampoo.
This shampoo is anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory, it helps put the brakes on proliferation of that yeast that lives on everyone’s skin. Nizoral shampoo calms down the yeast and calms down the inflammation caused by the yeast.
Dr Dray continues to praise this shampoo as it leaves the hair feeling softer, more manageable and also more voluminous. How many anti-dandruff shampoos can boast of that? I can’t think of a single one!
She recommends to directly massage this shampoo to the scalp, leave it there for a few minutes and then rinse it out. All shampoos should be used like this, but this especially stands true for those directed towards dandruff or other scalp conditions.
Do not forget the backs of your ears! It is the most relaxing experience. Plus this will help you avoid any skin issues that originate in the back of your ears.
Dr Dray claims that this discovery changed the game for her scalp. This simple little tool helps distribute the shampoo lather across the surface of the scalp. The silicon bristles on this shampoo brush help dislodge the clumps of skin cells as well as product residue and build up
Dr Dray says this product helps her using less amount of shampoo, which is quite useful in saving product and saving the scalp from irritation and product build up.
I am personally quite happy with this one, since I already have it in my bathroom! I got a hot pink one before Dr Dray entered my life and I was not sure if it is dermatologist approved. Now I know!
She recommends this particular one from Amazon (Below)
This one is a little annoying because it is expensive! Dermatologist Dr Dray has been underwhelmed by some of the Oribe products. They are super hyped and costly but this nourishing hair oil by Oribe tells a different story.
This was an impulsive purchase by Dr Dray and she did not want to like it because of the price but she regretfully admitted that this product is worth the price.
It is a silicon rich formula that acts as a heat protectant. Oribe’s Gold Lush Nourishing Hair Oil is like perfume for your hair and makes the hair glossy, manageable without the greasiness.
This is expensive but considering how little you need each time, this product is worth the investment. To be used on freshly washed, damp hair. Dr Dray recommends using it mostly on the ends of your hair. This product delivers especially for you long hair beauties. If you have color treated hair, this hair oil will help you protect that color from the UV rays of the sun, making your hair color last longer.
Where are my curly ladies at? If you are part of the curl community, you have at some point either used or have been tempted to try this styling cream. Dr Dray is not rocking a shorter hair style and found that she needed to style her mane a bit more to upkeep the shorter length. Enter the magic product, Moroccan Oil Hydrating Styling Cream; this cream helps fight the static created in the hair, it is moisturizing and combats the frizz without weighing the hair down.
You can put it on the hair when it’s damp, or even when it’s completely dry. In contrast to many other hair care products, this product distributes throughout the hair easily without making it look sticky.
Dermatologist Dr Dray raves about the Moroccan Oil brand and has loved every product she has ever tried from this brand. Moroccan Oil’s Perfect Defense Head Protectant Spray is a fantastic product that will save your beautiful hair against heat. It could be heat caused by your styling products, and even heat caused by the Sun.
Dr Dray rarely recommends heat inducing tools, so if she has recommended this one by Revlon, I have no doubt that it is quite a good one. The One-Step Volumizer by Revlon with the improved motor is an upgraded version of the older one by the same brand.
However, read carefully before you go ahead and buy this product. Dr Dray does not recommend it to dry your hair, she recommends this to heat style your hair. If you use a brush and a blow drier to style your hair, you will benefit by investing in this product. It will help cut down the time taken to style your hair. This is much simpler to use that a round brush and a blow drier.
Dr Dray recommends sticking to the lowest setting or the cool setting. Try not holding the heat to your hair in one particular section to get the style you are looking for. That can quite definitely damage your hair.
Dr Dray has not experienced any hair breakage caused by this tool and it has made her life a lot easier. There have been some mixed reviews about Revlon’s One-Step volumizer, so if you are confused and not able to decide, I hope this will help you make the right decision for your hair care needs. Basically, yes to heat styling with this, no to drying with this. Easy peazy!
